As I type this BLOG on a Windows XP machine I realize that a lot of irony goes into what I am getting ready to say which is WINDOWS Sucks. My company buys me a Windows machine and so I use a Windows machine. I have had this PC just over a year and I received it with Windows Vista. Within two hours I had found ten things that the new machine could not do because of driver issues and other configuration issues that we had to labor through. After two days of going back and forth with our IT guy we finally eliminated all of the issues except for one major one, no driver for the printer that is attached to my docking station. Two days wasted, we slicked the drive and installed XP. Since loading XP this machine has been good, but not perfect. If you have watched any TV you have seen the “Trust Me” commercial, also known as “Broken Promises”, from Apple. If you haven’t seen it go here; http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/.
I went to the Windows site to check out the new operating system and if I am not mistaken they are trying to be more like Apple in look and functionality. That is except for one thing, Apple is reliable, Windows is not. Apples run, and run and run and run…ect. I have an Apple at home and the only problem that I have had is with Microsoft Office for MAC, imagine that. When I bought the iMac my wife fused about the price, my argument was that we would have to buy three Windows machines to last as long. We are coming up on two years and it is running great. We will probably buy another iMac and give this one to our son; our iMac has another 4 years of life left on it.
I know I haven’t tried the new windows operating system, just watch the “Broken Promises” commercial from Apple. It is like going to a restaurant and getting bad food and service over and over again. If you keep going back then you are a fool. Yes I use a Windows machine at work, just because I have to eat at the cafeteria at work doesn’t mean I have to at home.
