When I got home yesterday I checked my front porch to see if the FedEx or UPS man has left something. I along with my wife do a lot of shopping online and I will leave that story for another BLOG post. As I walked up to my front door it looked like it had been hit by post card storm. I started wondering did a group get together and have a party on my front porch and leave behind a card to confirm they were there. No, it was a bunch of local politicians or their helpers who seem to think slick printed post cards work. What a waste of money. I have nothing against print but how inefficient can your advertising be by going door to door. These Politicians are getting bad advertising advice. The money they spent on printing alone would have been more effective with an online campaign which could include Banners, Pre-roll, Pay-per-Clicks and social ads. Efficiency and effectiveness are important to advertising. Going door to door is not efficient, though it would be great exercise. Effectiveness, I can’t remember one post card left behind. If I save one politician or advertiser from making this same mistake again, kickn’ it old school, then I have done my job.
