The Colts of West Jessamine have quietly put together a great football season so far in 2010. First year Coach Graham Heasley has brought order to the team and restored pride in the program. The schools’ top ten ranking and undefeated season, with a perfect 6-0 record, can do a lot for any program. West Jessamine will put all that on the line when they play in the cross-town shoot out this Friday night for the county bragging rights.

Coach Heasley has some outstanding players with a big time quarterback in Matt Carbol. Carbol has all the intangibles needed in a top notch trigger man. One of his biggest attributes is his leadership ability. When Carbol speaks the team listens. This year it appears that the team has listened a lot, which is paying big dividends for the boys from the west side of Nicholasville. West Jessamine is in the same Class 4A District with state powers such as Boyle County and Lexington Catholic, so it is crucial for the Colts to get the win this Friday night. It should be a great game with a packed house so get there early for a fun evening.

Don’t forget that the West Jessamine Football Team is the Team of the Week on the “Scholastic Ball Report”, this Saturday at 11:30 am on WKYT Chanel 27.
