Beverage group: 18 mayors wrong on sugary drinks
Posted: 11:47 PM - The American Beverage Association says efforts by the mayors of 18 cities to stop food stamps from being used to buy sugary drinks won't make the nation healthier.
Did you know that one week a year you get a pass on the unhealthy food taboo curse? You do! For one week every year the County Fair Gods lay upon us the guilt free sensation that we can have funnel cakes, deep fried oreo’s (my fav.), deep fried snicker’s, polish sausage, frozen milk shakes etc…………………In fact, at one county fair last year I actually experienced someone eating a deep fried serving of COKE! Who knew? I love America, uh I mean Kentucky!
County fairs in Kentucky generally start around the early to mid part of June, They have to be finished by the time the State Fair starts in mid August. All the pickles, quilts and chickens have to be judged locally, and the local winners move on to the State Fair in Louisville. Kentucky’s State Fair has the most indoor and air conditioned area of any fair in the United States! Back to the County fair idea, get out and enjoy one of the county fair’s near you or, maybe not so near. Let the kids pick a county that they have not visited before and start driving there soon. For instance, I have taken my son’s to fairs in Eastern Kentucky, and Western Kentucky but, haven’t done much with the Southern or Northern Kentucky county fairs, I am changing that this summer.
Below I have listed some County Fair dates, please take a minute to list your County fair date if you like! The more the better……………
