I wish this summer would slow down, I mean it; its making me sick just how fast we got to July 4th!
Summer is my favorite season, the hotter the better I say!!!!!!!!!!! So much good food on the grill and so much fun in the water. We’ve talked at length about staying closer to home this vacation season………… and most of us are doing just that!

Now, lets talk about a few things we all need to do to make sure we have a great time! First, Boating laws are the same, in most instances, as driving a car or truck. No open containers, no drinking and driving either. You have to have the appropriate sealt belt or life jacket numbers. You have to have your registration, insurance and lic. with you at all times. Make sure you abide by the rules of the road (lake) when on-coming traffic approaches. As for camping, some of my best memories are from when I was little and my family would go to Fort Boonesboro with other families and camp. It was great fun. We ALWAYS made sure that campfire’s were put out throughly. We always made sure we cleaned up the mess we made too. We always made sure we had fun and plenty of graham crackers, chocolate bars and ‘mallows! Ha Ha!

Now for my plans! Friday morning, I am going to run in the Great Buffalo Chase 5K run here in Frankfort, at Buffalo Trace Distillery. That way I can be guilt free the rest of the weekend! Then I am heading to the lake with some friends for the 4th! I already have my cooler, sleeping bag and flip flops ready and sitting by the door…………………..lol.

CONGRATS TO OUR VERY OWN KENNY PERRY, HE’LL BE A RYDER CUP MEMBER FOR SURE NOW! FUNNY HOW THINGS WORK OUT ISN’T IT!  He’ll be 48 during the Ryder Cup and he’s stated that his biggest career goal has been to make this team while the event was in his home state.  Given all of the young talent on Tour, the long hours on the range required to maintain the game at that level, the physical wear and tear on anyone (and especially on a player his age), the mental toll required to compete weekly on Tour…this is a huge accomplishment.  He’s the only two-time winner this year other than Phil and Tiger and he’s now, officially, the hottest player on Tour.  He was likely going to be a Captain’s Pick for home-state crowd motivation, but now that spot can go to someone else who Captain Azinger feels is hot.

This is big for the Commonwealth and will be the prevailing media theme-line now, after Tiger’s absence, of course.

Look for me on WKYT Tuesday at 12:30 with Bill and Barb!
And tell us what your plans are for the 4th!

Send me some pictures of recent travels in Kentucky; Folks I will post them as long as they r clean! LOL!
