What a headline……………………. Actually the two have Winchester connections and are equally refreshing to be around. You’re wondering where I am going with this whole thing? Well, Friday the First Lady held a press conference detailing her new program “Horses & Hope” This program is designed to bring awareness, education and support of breast cancer to Kentucky’s many equine industry employees. From horse farms to the back sides of tracks every employee will be able to learn how to detect possible problems early and get educated on their status with the help of this program.
Ellis Park, Keeneland, Churchill Downs and Turfway will be hosting special days during their fall meets! You can help show your support by attending that special day at the track and wear pink and enjoy!
More information is forthcoming in the next few days about “Horses & Hope”, so stay tuned!. But thanks to Mrs. Beshear for having the idea and energy to make it happen. She has a star studded bunch helping her lead this program as well! Now to Ale 8 One…………………….
Last Thursday I had the pleasure of getting a private behind the scenes look at Ale 8 One’s plant in Winchester! DeAnne, (one of the best PR people around) took me on the bottle, label and tasting tour. It was great fun, and you have no idea just how many bottles they fill each hour. I would strongly encourage everyone to take the tour.
DeAnne is terrific! While you’re in the area, visit Fort Boonesboro and Ruth Hunt Candy in Mt. Sterling too! See about getting a lodge room or cottage at Natural Bridge State Resort Park or one of the great private sector cottages in the Red River Gorge area too! If you are close to Natural Bridge you might as well get a pizza at Famous Miquel’s pizza!
