Oh people, did I put some miles on the old car last week!!!!!!!!!!!! First, I went to Harlan to meet a great bunch of folks at the Harlan Center. A native son from there is preparing to do some good work on the big screen about Harlan County and its people.

Oh people, did I put some miles on the old car last week!!!!!!!!!!!! First, I went to Harlan to meet a great bunch of folks at the Harlan Center. A native son from there is preparing to do some good work on the big screen about Harlan County and its people. So I went there to talk to a group about filming in the Commonwealth and what it can bring and leave behind too! I was treated so nice and enjoyed some great lunch too! I hope the project gets moving and becomes a reality. Anyway, thanks for having me down there, heck the drive was worth it all by itself! Truly spectacular scenery through Knott, Knox, Bell and Harlan counties!

Lets see, then on Thursday went over to Henderson to meet with the folks from Ellis Park. I was there to help set up next months Horses & Hope event. If you remember, last week I talked about those Horses & Hope events, well in Henderson last Thursday I met for a while with Bonnie, Ron and several others; figuring out where tents, tables and other things would be set up. I tell ya, Ellis Park is great race track! It’s clean, friendly and good blood lines run everyday. I would give it a shot if you’re looking for an “out of the central Kentucky area”, long weekend. Scenic drive too! The whole Audubon area of Kentucky is beautiful but, not a part of the state many of you get to visit I suspect. I really enjoy getting out in the state and checking out new attractions, or maybe those tourism interests’ that I haven’t been to in a few years.

Now a few notes and items:
-Lots of year round school schedules start up this week, visit some place in the state before school starts!
-Horse & Hope events will be at Kentucky race tracks this late summer and fall. Stay tuned.
-The Ky. State fair starts Aug. 14.
-Ryder Cup is September 16-21 in the ‘Ville!
