Did everyone have a great Summer? It went by way too fast! I did hit a major League baseball game, a couple of Legend’s and Bat’s games, a trip to the lake, A bunch of golf, a few family get-to-gether’s etc………………! I don’t really think the high gas prices kept people from traveling throughout the state but, it definitely encouraged them to stay away from the beach according to national polls and survey’s. I asked several of my tourism industry partners about their visitation numbers this spring and summer and they were very happy. Plus, there is the big Labor Day
Last week we talked about sports tourism. I feel like the Eastern-Western game may attract 25 thousand fans. I just have a feeling. Lots of class and fraternity/sorority reunions before and during the game too!
How about Farmer’s Markets throughout the state. Good veggies and fruits just in time for tailgating. You know that’s an opportunity to see another area of the state on a weekend right? Travel to a different county and check out their produce and sorghum and so on. Are you looking for a location for the family to reunite this Fall?
