I thought I would list a few of the tourism spots in Kentucky that are currently or, have been in the past, ranked high in nationally know publications or organizational “Top Ten lists”! So many of Kentucky’s possessions go unattended by us, but “Out of Towner’s” eat this stuff up, out of stater’s are responsible for up to 45% of visitation at some tourism properties! Last week the Mt. Sterling Court Days event got kicked off, it runs through Monday. And that’s what I am talking about; it’s the oldest trade event in . And lots of us haven’t been!

Below is a list of unique, fun, important, not so important, proud-full and just plain cool top ranked spots in Kentucky!

Cumberland Gap Nat. Park- No.1 in USA by Southern Living, for best Fall Color!

Kentucky’s Capitol Building ranked in top 5 each year by AAA !

Red River Gorge- Ranked No. 2 in for Rock Climbing by many publications!

Harlan Co. Ranked No. 1 in for ATV trails by several online surveys!

Wasioto Winds, Grayson Lake and Dale Hollow State Park golf courses have been ranked in the top 6 Nationally by Golf Digest!

All Corvettes are made in Bowling Green!

All Post It Note’s are made in Cynthiana!

99% of Bourbon is made in Kentucky!

Louisville is home to the national headquarters of Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Taco Bell, KFC and Long John Silver’s!

Of course, there are more things we are known for than just these, so if you want to add some of your own please do in your comments! I would be happy to pass along new information. Pictures of you and your group at some of these stops would be cool too! I’ll see what I can come up with too! Also I have been getting asked about Bourbon…………… do you guys have any unique bourbon recipes that I can pass along. Several folks from outside Kentucky have asked me to provide some recipes using our signature product!
