(Midway is having their Christmas open house this weekend)
It is official, UK is playing East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl
Jan. 2 in Memphis. Thinking about going? If so consider these cool things along the way………for practical purposes and because www.WKYT.com visitors are showing up on this blog from Pikeville and beyond I am starting with east Kentucky as a departure point.
Make a stop in Berea, visit the artisan’s center……..drop by Ale8One in Winchester, for a tour……..Georgetown’s a perfect stop, their downtown area is cool!...........Bowling Green has the Corvette Museum and there is Dino World and oh yea, tours of the Corvette plant too down there……..
How about an overnight?
WigWam village on the way to Memphis, or on the way back!........for you couples try a bed and breakfast…………(no kids usually) and great food and great company. Ky. State Parks offer many accommodation options on the way to Memphis! One of my favorites is Pennyrile Forest SRP! You know you can stay overnight for $50.00 bucks right? Then there is Barkley and Ky. Dam and KenLake SRP’s too! Pattie’s restaurant in Western Kentucky is a landmark so you have to plan For that stop!
Got any personal ideas, got any advice for those traveling to Memphis? You know of places to stop and smell the bourbon (Bourbon distillery tours)? Put them in the comment area below!
I’ll be on Ch. 27’s “Afternoon” show this Thursday! I’ll be wining and dining with Denise from Chrisman Mill. She’ll be announcing the winner of the nice Holiday Basket they have been taking registrations for! Tune in Thursday at 12:30 and watch me and Denise !
