Last week we learned that UK will play East Carolina in Memphis Jan. 2. I wanted to give you guys some Holiday and Bowl game travel tips……Consider our great state resort parks in Kentucky as you decide where to stay on your bowl adventure! Kenlake, Barkley and Ky. Dam Village are Purchase Area, Land Between the Lakes, Western Waterlands whatever you want to call them, regional resorts. But there are tremendous opportunities to educate, energize and familiarize your family on the bowl trip.

For grown ups, you can take in Kentucky’s bourbon trail, you’ll probably be heading back through the Bluegrass Parkway, stop around the Bardstown area to visit Maker’s Mark, Heaven Hill and Jim Beam. Also you’ll find Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey in the Frankfort area off of I-64. If you are you might consider a Holiday day trip (since the kids will be getting out of school) to Frankfort. The state cap. building offers tours, so does the Ky. History center and other museums. Berea has too many things to mention, but kids ages 1-101 would enjoy some pizza and interactive activities in Berea. Saturday, I took my boys to Midway for their open house, not something a dad and two high school boys would typically participate in but, we had a blast. We got something to drink and visited all the shops and spent some money on Christmas presents. Of course our purchases were music oriented. I really enjoyed the short trip.
Tell me what you’ve enjoyed thus far about the Holiday season………send in some pictures too! The winner of the Chrisman Mill basket was from Lexington. Did you catch the “Afternoon” noon show last Thursday?
