What a week! The Bluegrass Ball in Washington in honor of the new presidential inauguration events happened Ali and Clooney and others were there. Why do I mention that?..........mainly because our Kentucky Proud products were part of the goodie bags!

What a week! The Bluegrass Ball in Washington in honor of the new presidential inauguration events happened Ali and Clooney and others were there. Why do I mention that?..........mainly because our Kentucky Proud products were part of the goodie bags! Just like the Oscars ………………ha ha.

Spring Break is not that far off, or am I just trying to stay positive in this winter blah period? Seriously, start looking at options for trips in Kentucky right now…………it will help you with the winter blahs and possibly save you some money in the long run! I am most looking forward to the Keeneland Spring meet April 3-24…………..and golf of course……………..I want to welcome Tracy Pearce into the strange but wonderful world of tourism………….she is the new tourism CZAR in Mt. Sterling. Congrats! I want to congratulate Jamie Link, he is the new CEO of the World Equestrian Games Foundation. Jamie is a good guy and will take that challenge head-on and move the games’ preparation forward immediately.

Remember I said last week that your new ’09 vacation Guide is available online at www.kentuckytourism.com ; put in your mailing info and expect your free guide in your mailbox in a few days! I have added Bandy and Bailey to my schedule of radio segments, I’ll be on with Jason and Deidre every Friday at 8am on  http://www.wlxxthebear.com/home.php    .

This Thursday I’ll be on WKYT’s Afternoon show. Tune in and enjoy whatever I plan on talking about. Ha ha. This weekend I think I will head to Cumberland Falls for a little cottage action with a fireplace. Make sure you put events and Tourism stories in the comment window below and send them to www.mykentuckybackyard.com too!.
