Who’s tired of their Children?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha Ha. Day after day of snow, frigid temps and ice…… Pizza, soft drinks and chips…….that’s great if a vacation but it wasn’t and still isn’t for lots of folks in Boyle and Madison counties among others! Really it was just too tough to even get outside and go to a museum or library you know? MOST WERE CLOSED TOO! Our wonderful State Parks didn’t escape the wrath either. Some of our parks are closed even this morning.
The pictures of the trees and landscapes were spectacular, though in a brutal way I guess! Hats Off to Richmond, Kentucky! The city and EKU deserve kudos for making the All “A” Classic a success despite the conditions. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about how the organizers and EKU came together to make this sports travel event one of the best in history.
You know getting those children back in school is what is important. But I hope the state education leaders find a way to allow for spring break and a reasonable summer break given the magnitude of all this. The tourism industry relies heavily on breaks from school and moms and dads taking kids to parks, museums and so forth. Keep your fingers crossed! WKYT’s weather folks hit this one on the head. I mean they nailed it! T.G.. Lauren and Todd get a hats off too! Great Job peeps!
Things are a bit quiet this week in tourism, but Kentucky Crafted: the Market is coming up http://kycraft.ky.gov/ . Spring Break, the Derby, Horse Park activities and so much more right around the corner. Stay tuned……………………….
