Man this past weekend was great……..a little windy on Sunday but, the temps and sun on Saturday couldn’t have been better for early March! Lots of golf was played and travelers were doing their thing! I talked to some folks from St. Louis on Friday (they were getting fueled up in Lexington). Their kids were on spring break so they came here for some horse farm and Abe Lincoln touring! I just happened to have a ’09 Visitor’s Guide in the car so I got to make their day.
Natural Bridge SRP and Barren River SRP are hosting outdoor activities this coming weekend. www.parks.ky.gov Get outside and enjoy the beginner backpacking event at Natural Bridge State Resort Park its really cool. They’ll teach your kids what to take hiking, how to maneuver over rock formations, how to stay safe and, most importantly, how to “get found” if you get lost! I highly recommend this event!
The McConnell Springs support group is again hosting a wine tour of The bluegrass’ vineyards and wineries! It’s March 28th and will be huge! Last year was great and Annette tells me they are planning for a sell out. More next week on that, but follow the link as always www.mcconnellsprings.org
Spring break is here…… if your spring break hits when the boys or girls play their Sweet 16 basketball tourney’s why not go on a sports tour? Really, take the fam to Bowling Green for the girls, or get excited about the boys being in Lexington………..Mary Todd Lincoln’s house, John Hunt Morgan’s place and other historic sites await! Get out and do some thing!
Finally, one of my favorite holiday’s; ST. PATRICK’S DAY is almost here. Lexington is hosting its parade this coming Saturday. Many events are scheduled all over the Bluegrass! Main Straus Village in Covington will be rocking this weekend, Paducah and Hopkinsville too!
Go to the comments area and put in your St. Patty’s event if you want.
