I know that we’ve been talking about Spring Break for a few weeks. Some schools have their break much earlier than the rest of us. My Boys are out this week and I think that’s the case for most public schools. We are going to Northern Kentucky to check out some live music. As I have said before; the Covington and Newport areas are great for live and impromptu jam sessions nightly!
If you have younger kids think about doing the Salato wildlife education center in Frankfort (the Game Farm) , they’re hosting a week long Safari. The event will be educational and inexpensive. http://fw.ky.gov/newsrelease.
April is National Kite Month, so go fly a kite! Jacobson Park in Lexington, Lake Reba in Richmond and any state park will welcome you with open arms. Good clean fun, and we need more of that!
There is also a really neat Bluegrass Music festival going on in Owensboro this weekend. Dale Ann Bradley, JD Crowe, and other famous folks will be pick’n and grin’n down there! Gosh there are so many things going on this weekend! I think I counted 58 events of some kind happening all across the commonwealth starting Monday.
Contest Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keeneland opens this weekend! Spring really is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“buckle up, slow down and get there in one piece”
