This past weekend was filled with Easter Egg rolls and hunts and kite flying events. Keeneland had a record crowd on Saturday, over 30,000 people filled the property at Keeneland race course. I was at a Blue Grass stakes day some years ago with the then record of 26,900 folks. I can’t imagine how crazy the ole track was on Saturday! Cool!
I took my sons to Northern Kentucky as I promised and had a great time for a day. Then we spent some time in Lexington just cruising around; I spent some time at Equus Run and Chrisman Mill vineyard/winery’s too!
Lexington’s 92.9 The Bear radio station went to Carter Caves State Resort Park on Thursday and Friday. Deidre broadcasted live from there with much success, and help from the staff at CC. I am going to Richmond for Easter Sunday activities. I’ll spend the day with my mother and even though she wants to cook, we’ll get out and do something relaxing for her too! After a great dinner of course! Lexington’s very own “Old Ky. Chocolates” was featured on the Rachael Ray show on Wednesday. Yes, There is a tourism angle at work here……….anytime I can help out a Kentucky food, candy, bourbon or wine producer I will, tours and national exposure make Kentucky a big draw. Rambling on aren’t I?................. It’s okay as long as recognize it…………lol
