Perry County cleaning up after flashing flood
Posted: 6:00 PM - Heavy rains caused major problems in the Perry County community of Big Creek, after flash flooding swept away cars and flooded an elementary school.
My Travels Always Bring Me Home!
I was thinking the other day about all of the places I have travelled to.
I have been to every one of Kentucky’s 120 counties.
I have been to every one of Kentucky’s 50+ State Parks.
I have been to each of the newly designated Kentucky’s Only Ones!
I have been to where it all began….Sander’s Café on Corbin.
I have been to each of Kentucky’s distillery tours.
I have met Muhammad Ali, Dwight Yoakam, George Clooney, Diane Sawyer,
Loretta Lynn, The Judds and many other Kentucky notables.
I have played golf at Valhalla; then sat at a table with Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Ken Anderson,
Terry Bradshaw, Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmitt and Bob McAdoo at the Ky. Center for the Arts.
I have driven a Corvette off the assembly line during the plant’s celebration in 1995.
You know there’s more to write, lots more. But I probably enjoy pulling into the driveway as much as the trips themselves. I really enjoy coming home and re-thinking about the last trip and tour and how lucky I am.
Why not spend a few minutes writing Down your Kentucky Adventures too. Comment on the blog with your ideas and you may win a prize!
AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE SONJA!
BEST TRAVEL COMPANION EVER!
