Last week we took in the Millville Hillbilly Daze event in Woodford County and this weekend
we drove to Owen Co. for Sweet Owen Day in Owenton. I am coming around to the idea that the smaller and more “old school” or old fashioned festivals are my favorite. Sure, who doesn’t like
the nice artwork, unique food selections and culturally different music you may find at
some festivals in larger towns and cities (?); they’re fun! But I have to say, or write, that the
smaller communities in Kentucky have it right too. We enjoyed great burgoo, pulled pork and
music at two extremely small festivals the past two weekends. It’s what it’s all about.
whatever “it” is. Maybe it’s the Hokey Pokey! (HUMOR)
Okay let’s look to Kentucky State Parks for Fall leaf changing season fun!
Cottages, walks, hikes, a grill for some Ky. Proud grilling deliciousness! Bring it on!
Sonja and I Travel often………but as I said a few weeks ago on this blog, It’s good to get home
after a nice festival of fun in a town we haven’t visited for a long time. Just GOOD TIMES!
“buckle up, slow down and get there in one piece”
