Posted: 3:03 PM The Kentucky State Fair gets kicked off this Thursday in Louisville with music and noise and just maybe….not so much heat! Know how every year it’s like the surface of the sun out there among the funnel cakes and tube sock salespeople!
Posted: 10:28 AM The annual US 127 Yard Sale was a big hit! As I said last week it’s become a tourism draw for the state. Not only are hotel rooms hard to get but restaurant’s are full that week too! Anyone get any cool stuff on the cheap?
Updated: 9:53 AM You think? Heck yea the US 127 Yard Sale is tourism at its best! Just last year I was visited several stops along the famed route of tube socks, boxes of nails and old Pepsi signs that could be worth 1000’s of dollars and I actually had to search out some people from Kentucky for a news story!
Posted: 8:52 AM The Cincinnati Bengals Training Camp is upon us again at Georgetown College. This is your chance to see NFL greats up close and have more access than you may have expected.
Posted: 9:17 AM Here’s hoping all is well with you! It is with me……cheers! Folks I had some “cheers” Saturday night as we rode My Old Kentucky Dinner Train! Bardstown as you all know is a gem of a city here in the Commonwealth.
Posted: 9:01 AM Hey everybody! Hope all is well in your corner of the world! Great on my end I must say. Even in this economy with company’s cutting back and worried about profits Buffalo Trace continues to expand and offer more and more opportunities to us as Kentucky peeps.
Posted: 8:23 AM Did everyone have a wondrous 4th of July? I enjoyed it for sure! Family, a wee bit of golf and lots of hot and sunny weather! The summer season is full of opportunities for golf, horse back riding, distillery tours, vineyard concerts and music festivals…
Posted: 8:49 AM Do you have family members or co-workers that are already saying they are hot and the weather is too hot and they’re uncomfortable? Well good gosh! I bet they are the same ones that said they couldn’t wait for warm weather.
Posted: 8:43 AM The summer has begun my friends………the heat, the music and oh….the BBQ! Close your eyes and think of this…..88 degrees and a bottle or two of great Kentucky Vino~. Blues, Country or really any music you like being performed live in front of you!
Posted: 9:47 AM Sum, sum summertime is here! Grillin, chillin and thrillin! Okay! I am trying too hard there. The heat is on and so are the events and activities…..
Posted: 11:07 AM I hope the weather where you were was great for the Memorial Day weekend festivities and events! I was in Louisville twice, Richmond and Lexington………whew…

Posted: 3:19 PM Alright, so you know I was traveling through eastern Kentucky last week! Let me give you all an overview of what all that meant! I, along with several other folks went to Hazard, Harlan, Berea, Mt. Sterling, Prestonsburg and 17 other cities touting the upcoming Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. We held press conferences all week.
Updated: 9:18 AM Word from the international BBQ festival in Owensboro was that there may have been record crowds! Wine, beer and Herb festivals throughout the state were terrific. Looks like the Friday night storms hurt the crowds in Eastern Ky. but Saturday there were big turnout number.
Posted: 8:38 AM Every so often I like to say thanks and give credit where it is due for hard work, solving a problem I have, joining in on a crazy idea I have, getting me a contact name or just returning my call or replying to my email! These folks (most in the travel industry), (some not) really are a credit to their employer or profession! Shameless name drop I know; but sometimes we gotta say thanks!
Posted: 9:04 AM Tell me you went to Keeneland this past weekend? If you didn’t, you missed the very best that Central Kentucky has to offer! Don’t get me wrong, we are known for lots of things but Keeneland in the sunshine, nothing better! I don’t really even wager much, but I have a great time every meet!
Posted: 10:45 AM Seems like last week’s headline is the same as this weeks’? Well, it’s darn close! This time of year in Kentucky really is the greatest. Okay Kentucky’s men’s Bball team lost, I get it! But the UK women are moving forward!
Posted: 8:58 AM Spring Break in Kentucky continues and I love it! The weather is breaking in our favor finally. Choose a few day trips in Kentucky this year instead of the trip to the beach or Smokey Mnts.! Your Kentucky State Parks are offering a 10% discount as a special treat! www.parks.ky.gov
Updated: 10:23 AM We had a great weekend! Weather was terrific. I took a ride down to the regional “small” college tourney here in Frankfort and I also visited a local vineyard to pick up some wine; cause you know its spring! The tourney was cool, spoke to folks from Campbellsville, Georgetown, Pikeville and other spots in Kentucky!
Posted: 8:50 AM The 2010 Official Kentucky Visitors Guides are hot off the presses! The guide this year has a big emphasis on all things equine! The Altech FEI World Equestrian Games as you know will be held at the Ky. Horse Park Sept. 25-Oct. 10th!
Posted: 8:53 AM Man, what a weekend? Did everyone get things done outside? I did, took a long walk through downtown Frankfort, visited the Salato Center (game farm) and enjoyed the warmness.
Posted: 9:21 AM This last weekend I will have to admit, me; Mr. Kentucky Tourism didn’t venture out. The weather and the UK game played into that I guess. Sometimes you just don’t have it in ‘ya! right?
