27 SportsFirst has learned that former UK quarterback Curtis Pulley was in attendance Wednesday, watching Dean Hood’s EKU Colonels practice, just a day after the Hopkinsville native was kicked off the Wildcat team.
Hood said he and Pulley have been in communication, presumably to discuss the possibility of Pulley’s transfer to Eastern.
Pulley would have two years of eligibility remaining.
Hood already has Allen Holland, Jr. under center, and he’s the reigning OVC Offensive Player of the Year. So a transfer would mean Pulley likely will move to receiver. There are even rumors that Pulley would consider playing defensive back.
This wouldn’t be the first time a Wildcat has transferred to the Richmond school. Daymon Carter, Derick Logan and Josh Jaggers are just a few former Cats who made the switch and played well for the Maroon and White.
UK has given Pulley his release, so he’s now free to shop himself around. Provided he can learn from his past transgressions, Pulley can still salvage a career, that to date, has been more promise and hype, than anything else.
Here’s hoping Pulley can turn it around. It would make for a nice story. And if it happens in Richmond, all the better.
Those are the highlights… Stay tuned.
