Ky. to receive $6 million from online gambling case
Posted: 11:53 PM - Gov. Steve Beshear says Kentucky will receive a settlement of more than $6 million from a case involving online gambling.
Fans who attend Saturday's UK game against Norfolk State will be greeted by a new look Commonwealth Stadium. The facility, which opened in 1973, has been given a minor facelift.
On the south side of the stadium, fans will notice a nearly-two story, blue graphic depicting Wildcat players holding their helmets aloft.

Above the east side entrance, there's more new artwork. A huge "Welcome to Commonwealth Stadium" hangs next to an even larger graphic of a player bursting out of the concrete wall.

Russ Pear, UK's Associate Director of Athletics/Operations, says the school's marketing directors came up with the idea as a means to "freshen up" the look of Commonwealth Stadium. Pear says it's also a way to promote the UK mark.
Inside the stadium, fans will notice the lower level facade is now adorned with blue and white graphics.

Pear said the suites in the corners of the stadium also have been spruced up. New carpeting and paint have been put down in the 10-year old suites. Inside the press box, the TV booth has been enlarged, to accommodate the growing demands of network television.
It's neat to see the stadium awash in blue. Here's a tip of the TV Timeout cap for a job well done.
Those are the highlights... Stay tuned.
