Just as Billy Gillispie and his basketball Wildcats are a work in progress, so too, is the second installment of Inside Kentucky Basketball: All Access. We're putting the finishing touches on Saturday's show and UK fans again will want to see what their hardwood heroes are up to this week. Last week, the Big Blue Nation saw that Gillispie runs a tight ship, while conducting some of the toughest practices around. Fans also got a feel for how passionate the coach is about UK and his players. We heard from Jodie Meeks and how he struggled with injuries last year. We met Tracy Webster, regarded as one of the best recruiters in the game. Fans got a behind-the-scenes look at Big Blue Madness. Coming up on Saturday, we'll take a deeper look into the demands of being the head coach at Kentucky: his responsibilities go way beyond the court. Fans also will see Gillispie in action, on the bench and in the locker room, during UK's first exhibition game. We'll also introduce you to a few more Wildcats. You can see it only on the Big Blue Sports Network. Check your local listings for times. Those are the highlights... Stay tuned. |

Why would any coach leave players in a game who have zero assists and 5 turnovers? I was under the impression that UK had a deep bench, you would never know it by the few players Billy G. elected to go with against VMI. If three of the starting five cannot score, bench them and let someone else give it a try. These guys are here to play in the best conference in the country, no one is going to be great all the time, if one player is having an off night let someone else try. True Kentucky fans will love the players no matter what, but shift the line-up until you find one that works. Meeks and Stevenson are keepers. I know I was in the first segment because I took my mom to the woman's basketball clinic and my friends at work said they saw us. The clinic was wonderful. I am looking forward to the remaining installments, I think it is important for us to understand what the players and coaches go through to feed our frenzy! Hopefully we will get a more realistic grasp on what our beloved Wildcats endure for us. GO CATS!
