UK student Billy Kopp failed to make it to the final table at the World Series of Poker's World Championship. But don't cry for the Patrolman. He pockets nearly $1 million for his efforts.
Kopp was the chips leader after day seven of the Vegas event, considered the biggest poker tournament in the world. Kopp bowed out late Wednesday night, finishing 12th out of nearly 6,500 players.
After surprising everyone and taking a huge lead Wednesday, Kopp moved all in on his final hand -- 20,000,000 chips -- and was called! Kopp certainly made a name for himself in the main event, after playing in just three WSOP tournaments leading up to the big one.
Kopp wins $896,730 and the respect of a large number of players.
Those are the highlights... Stay tuned.
