Former UK walk-on and fan favorite Landon Slone is looking for a place to play.  After enrolling at Morehead State, Slone has withdrawn from the school and currently is mulling his options.

Slone led Paintsville High School to the Sweet 16 in 2008 and parlayed his play into an offer from Billy Gillispie to walk-on at Kentucky, which the player called a "dream come  true."

The 6-foot-3 guard left UK after Gillispie was fired and new coach John Calipari said he wouldn't keep many walk-on players.

Slone told 27 SportsFirst that he is meeting Thursday night with his high school, Bill Mike Runyon, and new Paintsville coach Matt Ratliff, to discuss his future.  Slone said he would nail down a decision within the next couple of days.

"I love the game and want it to be my job someday," Slone said.  "Giving everything to UK last year hurt my love for the game."

Slone said he didn't feel like "I fit in" at Morehead and informed coach Donnie Tyndall of his decision on Wednesday.

"I didn't get comfortable at Morehead and I couldn't see myself playing there in 2-3 years," Slone said by phone.

What about rumors that Slone would seek to walk-on at UK, again?

"I haven't heard anything about walking on," Slone said.

Slone said he's considering enrolling at UK, but "I'd be a regular student."

Those are the highlights... Stay tuned.
