After leading Morehead State to back-to-back 20-win seasons, a first in school history, coach Donnie Tyndall is quietly, but quickly showing up on the short lists of athletic directors needing to fill coaching postions.

Tyndall, who just completed his fourth season in Morehead, led the Eagles to the 2009 OVC Tournament title, securing the school's first NCAA Tournament birth since 1984.

Auburn and UNC Charlotte have taken notice, contacting the 39-year old Tyndall about their coaching vacancies.

"I'm very proud and happy to be the coach at MSU," Tyndall said.  "My focus and energy are about building the program's success and getting the Eagles back to the NCAA Tournament."

Auburn is looking for a coach after firing Jeff Lebo.  In addition to Tyndall,  four names have surfaced on athletics director Jay Jacobs' list to replace Lebo.  Former player Chuck Person, who now is an assistant with the Los Angeles Lakers, is believed to be in the mix.  Sam Houston State coach Bob Marlin has been contacted, as has North Texas coach Johnny Jones.  Former John Calipari assistant Tony Barbee, now the coach at UTEP, is believed to be a candidate.

Tyndall also has been contacted by UNC Charlotte, who dismissed Bobby Lutz last week.

Just recently, Tyndall signed a deal with the management firm All Pro Sports and Entertainment, Inc.  Its client base includes Barry Sanders, Jerome Bettis and PGA golfer Jonathan Kaye.

At the beginning of the 2009-10 season, Tyndall was recognized by Athlon Sports Magazine College Basketball Preview as one of the Top 10 Under the Radar Coaches.

Tyndall was named the 2007-08 OVC Coach of the Year.

Those are the highlights... Stay tuned.
