First, props to friend and colleague Brett Dawson, who this time a year ago, assured UK fans in a Courier-Journal column that they had never seen such a player as incoming freshman John Wall (I'm paraphrasing).
I concur. Wall, with his combination of size and speed, is unlike any Wildcat ever to have played at Kentucky.
It might be a long time before we ever see a player of his ability again. If ever.
There have been so many great point guards to play in the NBA. Cousy, West, Magic come to mind. All Hall of Famers. All revolutionized the game.
Johnson saw Wall play against Vanderbilt last year and, recently, said Wall is a lock to be the first player taken in next month's NBA Draft.
Imagine, then, hearing an NBA coach make comments about Wall being in that company of players.
Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders says Wall could revolutionize the point guard position.
