It only seems as though now matter where you go -- surfing the Internet, shopping at the mall or at the barber shop -- everyone has an opinion about UK coach John Calipari.
Vilified by some in the national media, and by other teams' fan bases, Calipari again is the subject of much debate, this time following a report by The New York Times detailing the NCAA's look into Eric Bledsoe's academic success in high school and his recruitment to Kentucky.
Certainly, Calipari is king of the Bluegrass, after his Wildcats won 35 of 38 games during his first season as coach.
Not only that, but Cal is winning off the court, too, against the likes of Pitino, Pearl and Donovan. He's put back-to-back recruiting classes that have been ranked the best in the country and his 2011 class likely will be top-ranked as well.
So why is Cal such a lightning rod for mixed opinions?
Andrew Sharp, editor of Sports Blog Nation, has a nice op/ed piece on Calipari and questions why some people dislike Cal so much.
