John McDonald, an infielder for the Giants, hit a home run on Sunday, his first at-bat since burying his dad last week.

On Friday, John McDonald, a utility-infielder for the San Francisco Giants, buried his father.  Jack McDonald died last Tuesday after a battle with liver cancer.

But before he passed away, McDonald told his son to "hit your next home run for me."

On Sunday, Father's Day, John McDonald did what any good boy would do for his dad. He followed his advice.

McDonald belted a home run in his first at-bat since his father's funeral.
