Terri Krebs, mother of former UK walk-on Mark Krebs, passed away on Wednesday in northern Kentucky.

Krebs, 49, battled breast cancer for the last nine years.

Krebs' son, says his mother was diagnosed while he was a freshman at Newport Central Catholic.

"They gave her two years," Krebs said.  "She's definately a hero of mine."

Despite deteriorating health, Krebs was able to see her son play many times during his career at Kentucky.  She even joined Mark on the Rupp Arena floor for Senior Day festivities, which Mark described as one of the highlights of his UK career.
