Saying he could better ways to spend his money, UK quarterback Morgan Newton, flanked by his younger brothers, delivered shower sandals on Friday to needy men at Lexington's Hope Center.

"I spend my money on much other useless stuff.  This is probably the least I can do," Newton said.

Newton bought 100 pairs of sandals to hand out.

Joined by his parents John and Ruby, and twin brothers Langston and Jordan, Newton spent time at the Privett Recovery Center, helping serve lunch before getting a tour of the facility.

"Any time you can go and communicate, and be around other people who aren't in the same situation as you, you can grow as a person," Newton said.

The men who frequent the Hope Center applauded Newton, before making their way over to the sophomore-to-be, most seeking an autograph.

"Probably where you get the most joy out of anything is seeing the reaction, seeing the faces of those guys out there," Newton said.  "We learn so much from being around other people."

John Newton said the visit to the Hope Center was Morgan's idea.  He said Morgan called the Center, asked what could be done for the men, and was told the facility needed shower shoes.

"I'm always happy to touch other people, but what they don't realize is they touch me just as much," Newton said.

Those are the highlights... Stay tuned.
