Rev. Ed Bradley has been a fixture on Rick Pitino's UK and U of L benches since the coach first came to Kentucky in 1989.
Serving as team chaplain, Bradley, from Henderson, has been a close Pitino confidant.
On Monday, Bradley was diagnosed with bone cancer and will begin a 90-day regiment of chemotherapy. Bradley is the pastor at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Bradley, 67, is said to be in good spirits.
In 1997, Bradley represented Pitino and the Boston Celtics at the NBA Draft. That's the same draft the Celtics banked on getting the No. 1 overall pick. Instead, Pitino settled for Ron Mercer with the fifth pick.
On a personal note, Bradley always was quick to share a laugh, sitting near the end of the UK bench, closest to the video and still photographers.
Here's hoping for a quick recovery.
Those are the highlights.. Stay tuned.
