Kanter's father speaks out on amateur status

Enes Kanter's father tells the Sporting News that a professional team in Turkey is trying to make an example out of his son.

Dr. Memhet Kanter, father of UK big man Enes, says the Turkish club Fenerbahce is trying to make an example of his son.  Specifically, the elder Kanter says Fenerbahce is trying to keep the 6-foot-11 center from playing in Lexington, to "set an example to with my son to coming generations in Turkey..."

Kanter tells the Sporting News that Enes has turned down several offers to play professionally in Turkey, with hopes of playing in the U.S.
