Underclassmen have until April 24 to declare for the upcoming NBA Draft. Ohio State big man Jared Sullinger didn’t waste any time in saying he was returning to Columbus, following the Buckeyes’ loss to Kentucky.
After five of his players were selected in last year’s first round, all eyes are on John Calipari’s group of freshmen, including Terrence Jones, Brandon Knight and Doron Lamb. Who will stay? Who will go?
When asked on Saturday, Jones and Knight avoided the question.
“Right now, you know, I know all of us are student-athletes,” Knight said. “We’re focused on being student-athletes first, so we just – I’m enjoying the time that I’m having here, and you know, loving the college experience.”
He should be. He’s the toast of the Bluegrass after hitting game-winning buckets against Princeton and Ohio State on Friday night.
Lamb says he’ll be a Wildcat next season.
“I’m just having fun playing with these teammates and playing with Coach,” he said on Saturday. “I’ll be back next year, so I can’t be worried about leaving.”
Players have until May 8 to withdraw their name from the draft.
