Lexington homeowner confronts teen burglar
Posted: 11:47 AM - A man says that a teenager broke the back door of his home during a burglary attempt.
Former Wildcat DeAndre Liggins is getting a taste of what NBA life is all about -- he says it only seems like he's been on a plane every day for the past couple of weeks.
Liggins has been racking up the frequent flyer miles, jumping from NBA city to city, working out for front office personnel. Already, he's worked out for San Antonio, Miami, and on Saturday, Charlotte.
On Sunday, Liggins is headed to Indianapolis. After that, it's on to New Jersey and then to Chicago.
Liggins said he did a variety of drills for the Bobcats brass, which included owner Michael Jordan.
"He's a funny guy," Liggins said after meeting Jordan. "The way he was talking, he's still got that competitive juice in him."
Liggins said Jordan gave him advice on how to exploit mismatches on the court.
"I just played like he wasn't there," Liggins said. "Even though it was hard not to look over there, I just had to continue going on about the business."
Liggins made the comments before he was introduced at the Kentucky Special Olympics closing ceremonies at Eastern Kentucky University.
"Charlotte was good. I got to show them my defensive skills, how competitive and how hard I play. I tried to make it as simple as I could."
Liggins said at all three workouts, he's been able to showcase his skills that made him a fan favorite at Kentucky.
"I did good offensively. I did good defensively, too. They all went well, but to me, the Spurs was the best one," he said.
Those are the highlights.. Stay tuned.
