Former coach, TV analyst and NIKE representative George Raveling paid UK a visit after the Cats 25-point blowout win over Tennessee.

Former coach, TV analyst and NIKE representative George Raveling paid UK a visit after the Cats 25-point blowout win over Tennessee.

Raveling, who coached at Washington State, Iowa and Southern Cal, posed for pictures with the Wildcats after UK coach John Calipari addressed his team.

Calipari noted that Raveling was on the stage with Dr. Martin Luther King, when the "I Have a Dream" speech was given in Washington, D.C.

"Basketball, the way it is for all of you, is because guys like him stepped up and said, 'Look, I'm not afraid,'" Calipari said to his team.  "I'm not afraid to say the right things or the things that need to be said."

Raveling, a former Villanova player, was helping with King's security detail that day and asked King for his notes.  The civil rights leader handed his speech to Raveling, who still has the papers.

When he spoke to the Wildcats, Raveling likened Calipari to his mother.

"That man's tough," Raveling told the Cats.  "Only somebody who loves you would get on you like that."

You can see more of George Raveling's visit to the UK locker room this Sunday, when "This IS Kentucky Basketball" airs on WKYT and the UK/IMG Sports Network.

Those are the highlights... Stay tuned.
