HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball players D'Mario Curry (Detroit, MI) and Desmond Johnson (Lynch, KY) have been named to the Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference First and Second Teams.

Curry, a 6'7" junior forward was the Railsplitter's top scorer and rebounder a year ago, averaging 15.3 points per game and 8.1 rebounds each night while earning 2008-09 First Team All-South Atlantic Conference. Johnson, a 6'7" sophomore forward finished second on the team in scoring and rebounding a year ago, knocking down 10.4 points per game and pulling 6.2 rebounds each outing. Johnson was named 2008-09 South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year for his efforts.

Both Curry and Johnson will join 2008-09 SAC All-Freshman Team member Brandon Armstrong (Decatur, GA) (9.4 ppg. 4.3 rpg.) and Stuart Miller (Harrogate, TN) (10.2 ppg.) as other key offensive contributors from a year ago when the Railsplitters take the floor for the first time this season on November 4 in Knoxville's Thompson/Boling Arena to take on the Volunteers of the University of Tennessee.

The Railsplitters are under the second-year direction of Head Coach Josh Schertz who hopes to continue to turn around the LMU men's baskeball program from last year's 14-14 performance to their first winning record since the 2002-03 season when the Railsplitters posted a 17-9 mark, ending the season a game away from making the Gulf South Conference Tournament. Next Wednesday's exhibition game with the Vols gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
