Sports Anchor, Weekend 6 & 11
Kailey Mizelle is excited to join Big Blue Nation as WKYT's weekend sports anchor. Kailey makes her way to Lexington after working stints in Columbus, Ohio, covering the Buckeyes, the Blue Jackets, and top Cleveland sports teams and Lubbock, Texas where she covered the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Kailey has been blessed in her time covering many different teams and major sporting events including the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Indians' run to the World Series, the College Football Playoffs, and an NHL history-breaking win streak. She’s also had the opportunity to cover a College World Series contender in the Red Raider baseball team, an NCAA tournament berth by the Texas Tech basketball team as well as the undefeated DII women's basketball national champions in Lubbock Christian.
In addition to covering major sporting events, Kailey has helped to host live, weekly pre and post-game shows and has produced multiple feature stories.
Before getting into local TV, Kailey spent time in minor league baseball reporting on the Montgomery Biscuits (Tampa Bay Rays Double-A affiliate) and the Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia Phillies High-A affiliate). She also worked for Scout.com writing stories on college recruits across the Central Florida area. Kailey also worked for several radio stations as their beat reporter covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Kailey has her degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida, where she worked as their sports anchor and reporter.
Kailey currently lives in Lexington where you can see her out with her husband, Aaron, or puppy, Goliath.
