It is the perennial favorite that continues to stand the test of time and remains on top of Christmas lists for both boys and girls. Receiving a shiny new bicycle for Christmas is a memory that will last a lifetime, and for kids with family challenges or limited income, a new bike is truly a dream come true.
That’s why Audi of Lexington and WKYT are teaming up again this year to present "Bikes for the Holidays” benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters. When you donate a new bike, Audi of Lexington will match your donation with a second new bike. The goal of the project is to collect 200 bike donations. Organizers of the drive are excited to see how many children they can help this year and say the response has been great so far.
"It's incredible, it's just absolutely incredible,” said Steve Gates, Audi of Lexington Owner. “We've had customers coming in, looking at new cars, that left and went to Wal-Mart to buy new bikes and came back! It's infectious, it's unbelievable!"
"We are thrilled to be a part of the Bikes for Holidays project again this year, " said Jeff Anderson, of WKYT and board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters. "We know the generosity of our community and the amazing matching donations from Audi of Lexington will make a meaningful impact on the lives of so many children in our area."
Bikes are being collected at Audi of Lexington, 3000 Pink Pigeon Pkwy. There is no better time to donate and help many children have a great holiday. For more information call 859-252-2834 to learn more about what sizes are still needed. Collection will continue through December 16th.
