LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) Officials in Carter County are asking for the public's help in finding a runaway teen.

Police say 15-year-old Kelsey Jo Stilton ran away from her Olive Hill residence around 1 p.m. on Tuesday. They say she left a note saying she'd left but didn't provide any additional information about her destination or plans. Officials say she is homeschooled and is not enrolled in any of the Carter County Schools.

The Olive Hill Police Department thinks she may be with 19-year-old Chalmer Spring, an acquaintance she met online. After searching through Stilton's electronic devices, police say it looks as if she had been planning on the runaway so she could be with Spring.

Stilton was last seen in Rowan County area, after getting a ride from Olive Hill to the Hayes Crossing-Haldeman Fire Department. According to the person who dropped her off, a male matching the description Spring was waiting on her in front of the fire station.

Officials think the pair might be headed towards Corbin.

Criminal charges are pending against Spring.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these two is urged to contact The Olive Hill Police Department at 606-474-5753.
