LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Freezing conditions will last throughout the next few morning with rain chances increasing later on.
Happy Veteran's Day and thank you to all those who are currently, or have, served for our country! To start out this Saturday morning, we will be looking at temperatures in the upper 20s with a light to moderate winds bringing wind chill values into the lower 20s for some. Skies will start out the day partly cloudy, but become increasingly cloudy as we continue throughout the day. You'll definitely want to keep your coat handy throughout the day if you are going anywhere this afternoon. Highs will only reach into the mid to upper 40s across the Bluegrass. Fortunately, things will be staying dry for any Veteran's Day activities around the area.
Moving ahead into Sunday, we will start to see some changes in the form of rain entering our forecast. Morning lows will still be right around freezing in the lower 30s with lower wind chill values. Cloudy skies will persist throughout the day as rain chances increase throughout the later morning and afternoon hours. The rain will stay fairly scattered and accumulation totals only look to be as low as 0.1" up to just under an inch under the heavier showers. Highs on Sunday will only reach the mid-40s, so you'll want both the coat and umbrella for the day.
Going into the work and school week we have mixed chances for rain and dry weather most of the week. Unfortunately, we won't be seeing any warmer weather coming our way for a little while. Highs most of the week will only reach the mid to upper 40s with Tuesday being the "warmest" day in the lower 50s. Most morning will be on the cold side as well down near freezing so any amount of wind will add in a cold wind chill to the days. Wednesday and then Friday look to be the best days for rain chances at this time with drier weather the other days. I was also taking a quick look at what next weekend might have in store and it doesn't look good. We could see possibly the coldest air we have see yet this season.
