LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- Lexington, surrounding cities, and many state parks will be hosting July 4 festivities and fireworks displays. Below is a list of area displays.
Berea- July 4- Free festivities begin at City Park at 6 p.m. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.
Clark County- July 4- Lynkins Park will have fireworks at dark. Gates open at 7 p.m.
Georgetown- July 4- Parade begins at 11 a.m. on Main Street. Fireworks will be in the evening at Scott County Park (also known as Brookings Park).
Lawrenceburg- July 4- Fireworks at the Anderson County Park at dark, roughly 9:45-10 p.m.
Lexington- July 4- Fireworks will be launched from the Arboretum, with viewing areas surrounding Kroger Field (formerly Commonwealth Stadium). Kroger Field will not be open, but parking lots around the stadium will be available as a place to park and watch fireworks. The Arboretum will be closed July 4 at 8 p.m.
Paris- July 4- 9:30 p.m. at Legion Park
Richmond- July 4- Lake Reba Park, from 5-10 p.m. $5 parking free. Paradise Cove will be open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Adventure Falls will be open 12 p.m.-11 p.m, with $3 mini golf. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.
Somerset/Pulaski County - July 2- SomerBlast at SomerSplash Waterpark. Fireworks at 10 p.m. Thunder in the Park (Pulaski County Park)- Fireworks begin at dark. July 3- Fireworks after first movie (~11 p.m.) at 27 Twin Drive-In. July 7- Nancy Fire Department- Fireworks begin at dark.
Bardstown- My Old Kentucky Home- July 4. Activities and fireworks to celebrate the holiday and the 191st anniversary of Stephen Foster's birth will last from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Barren River Lake State Resort Park- July 4. The beach gate opens at 2 p.m. with a $10 cost per car. All proceeds will go to the cost of the fireworks show. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.
Big Bone Lick State Historic Site- July 1-2. The 4th of July parade will be held July 1 at 6 p.m on the campground. Other activities include Tie-Dye on July 2.
Burkesville- Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park- June 30-July 4. Week long celebrations will include tie-dye and a campsite decorating contest.
Cadiz- Lake Barkley State Resort Park- July 4. Fireworks can be viewed from the beach.
Fairview- Jefferson Davis State Historic Site, July 4. Celebrations will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Falls of Rough- Rough River Dam State Resort Park- July 4. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
Jamestown- Lake Cumberland State Resort Park- July 1-2. State Dock's Annual Fireworks show, located inside the park. Fireworks will last from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park- June 29-July 4. Activities include live reptile programs, patriotic crafts, and a cornhole tournament. Fireworks will be over Kentucky Lake July 1.
London- Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park- June 30-July 2. Recreation activities and performances are planned. Camping reservations are recommended, with a minimum three-night stay.
Richmond- Fort Boonesbrorough State Park- June 30-July 4. A week of patriotic activities planned, including hayrides, crafts, and a parade. The event is for registered campers only.
