STAMPING GROUND, Ky. (WKYT) - Scott County authorities say an Owenton man is behind bars after calling 911 to report multiple false claims out of boredom.

Sheriff's investigators say Thomas Dean, Jr., 45, called 911 Sunday afternoon reporting that he approached a car with an unresponsive woman inside. Dean told dispatchers that the woman had a needle stuck in her arm and a small child in the back seat.

Dispatchers say they were instructing Dean how to perform CPR on the woman, but he told them a man got out of the passenger seat and pulled a knife on him.

The arrest report states Dean hung up, but when dispatch called him back, he told the operator that he had left the scene, not wanting any trouble.

Deputies later found out Dean was with his wife at Georgetown Community Hospital when making the phone calls from the emergency room. Investigators arrived at the medical facility where they say Dean made the 911 call because he was "bored."

Dean is charged with falsely reporting an incident and nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

He was booked in the Scott County Detention Facility.
