BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The family of an eastern Kentucky woman is looking for justice.
Joy Turner, 42, was found dead in a mobile home in Breathitt County on Longs Creek Road in September.
"It's heartbreaking," Joy's sister, April said. "They said it was suicide. They lied to us. It was not suicide."
Joy's roommates say her death was a suicide, but now nearly 5 months later the the state medical examiner says that's not the case.
"We knew she would never take her life," Joy's sister, Toi said. She loved life too much."
April and her sister Toi are now left with a lot of questions as to what exactly happened to their middle sister and they want answers.
"We're not going to rest," they said. "We're not going to stop. Until the person or persons responsible for my sister's murder. For Joy's murder is brought to justice and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
State police are investigating the murder. The family says they are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
