WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) - Hundreds of new jobs are coming to a southern Kentucky town.
A new call center will open in the Cumberland Regional Mall in Williamsburg in the former Walmart location.
Mayor Roddy Harrison says Senture, the company opening the call center, chose to locate in Williamsburg after more than 500 people responded to a survey.
Senture says 40 to 50 people will be hired before the center opens. After that, the company says it's planning to hire up to 500 people.
The building is being remodeled and will open in April. Positions will pay $10-15 per hour. Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison calls the center a major boost for the community.
"Yeah, the number of times that dollar turns over in this community, the ripple effect that it can have is really exciting..."
If you'd like to apply for a job, you can do so by visiting Senture's website.
