NASHVILLE, Tn. (WKYT)- Although freezing temperatures have hit the Kentucky and Tennessee area, Cats fans are in Nashville getting fired up for Friday's game.
For the second straight year, UK is bowling and this time in Nashville for the Music City Bowl at Nissan Stadium.
The Spires family drove from Berea to cheer on UK past Northwestern.
"A lot of it is family time and getting to go somewhere and enjoying each other but we also like to see the Cats, says fan Emily Spires. "We go to all the home games and we would really enjoy seeing a win."
As fans continue to show up to music city, the players are ready to play according to Coach Mark Stoops.
"I've been very pleased with our team and the attitude that they’ve had towards this bowl prep. They worked really hard back on campus prior to getting here in Nashville and since we been here they’ve been really on point. Just like Pat said it’s been fun to spend time with them. As you know back home we had an activity or two just getting out and playing paintball or airsoft or whatever it was but I know I got popped a few times. But just to spend some time with our players and have a little bit of fun and that’s what this is all about."
Kickoff for the game is at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN.
