MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WKYT) - Kentucky and UCLA will go at it Friday night in the Sweet 16 in Memphis.
The Cats have won 13 straight games, but UCLA beat Kentucky in Rupp Arena back in December.
"I'm excited. Get another chance to play them. They got us the first time. It looks good for a rematch," said UK Sophomore Isaiah Briscoe.
The stakes are much higher Friday night when the two teams play in FedExForum.
"Whatever it takes to win, that's what I'm going to do. Whatever it takes to win," said Malik Monk. "If I need to go get 40, then I'm going to get 40. If it's not, then I'm just going to do whatever it takes to win."
There are a lot of story lines including questions from the media on John Calipari's return to Memphis. Coach Cal says the focus should be on the talent on the court.
"This is about two unbelievably talented teams. That's what this is, and people are going to watch this game not because I'm coaching and not because I came back to Memphis, and not because Steve's coaching. They're going to watch it because this is a talented two teams. Both teams, and it should be a lot of fun," Coach John Calipari said.
The game will once again put UCLA's Lonzo Ball and Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox against each other. Both point guards are top notch. Both can score. Both know how to find their teammates.
"De'Aaron is a great player, one of the best guards in the country, hands down," Ball said. "It's a tough matchup... got to come ready to play because I know he is."
Kentucky and UCLA will face off on Friday night at 9:40 on WKYT.
