LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) - This system is cranked up and will intensify through the evening hours. As temperature continue dropping across the commonwealth, the switch to snow will become more aggressive.
Expect a very intense band of snow to pass over Kentucky later. The exact location of the heavier bands will show up on our high end map. That's the zone that we have around 4"-8" for total accumulation. This type of band can and probably will put down an inch per hour or more at times. That's where we get these more interesting totals.
Conditions overnight and into Saturday will be pretty rough. Especially, on secondary roads. Once the snow stops flying and crews aren't battling any new snowfall, main roads will begin to look a lot better.
This isn't final shot of snow in the 7-Day Forecast. Another round drops in on Monday and Tuesday.
