LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Despite the cold and foggy start to your Friday, today pans out to be a fairly nice day. We’ll see mostly sunny skies break out as a seasonable brand of air prevails. Highs will be a touch cooler with thermometers around 50°.
Tonight, mostly clear skies continue as a calm but cold one is expected. Lows drop off into the upper 20’s and low 30’s.
The sunshine hangs around as we head throughout the entire weekend. In fact, mostly sunny skies win out with pleasant highs in the mid-upper 50s. For the first of December, it’s hard to complain about those temperatures!
Big changes are set to arrive into early next week. We’ve been talking about it all week long and old man winter is expected to show up.
A strong cold front will bring gusty winds, heavy rains, and even few thunderstorms late Monday night and into Tuesday. Cold, arctic air invades the state by mid-week as we could be tracking out some snowflakes. High temperatures next Wednesday and Thursday only reach the 30's with cold overnight lows in the teens and low 20's.
