BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Fire officials say a lightning strike is the cause of a massive house fire in Boyle County.
The home, on Kings Ridge Road, caught fire around 11:30 on Tuesday morning after lightning struck the back corner.
Boyle County Emergency Manager Mike Wilder says the fire fully engulfed the house.
Nobody was injured in the flames. The owner was able to remove his father's and wife's vehicles along with the their dog from the home.
Officials say the top floor stayed in tact because of the steel beams that were built into the home.
Tuesday night, crews say the fire reignited and they had to be called back out. There is no word on if any more damage has been caused.
