DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - The Walmart Foundation has awarded $1,250 to Danville Independent Schools.

The money will be split between Mary G. Hogsett Elementary, Edna L. Toliver Elementary, Jennie Rogers Elementary, John W. Bate Middle School and Danville High School. Each school will receive $250.

Jennie Rogers Elementary officials say they plan to use their cut to make pins for students to wear on the last day of school. The pins will commemorate the final year of the school's existence.

Mary G. Hogsett Elementary plans to purchase hands-on math materials and new book sets.

Danville High School says their $250 will go towards rewarding the school's teachers and students at the end of the year.

This is the fourth grant that Danville Independent Schools has received from the Walmart Foundation.
